Tun Abdul Razak was born in Pekan on 11 March 1922. He first studied in a Malay school and later went on to complete his secondary aducation in Malay College in Kuala Kangsar.
When World War Two broke out, Tun Abdul Razak immediately joined an anti-Japanese movement in which he was an active member. After the war, he went to London where he took up law. During his time there, he served as thesecretary of the Malay Students Society.
In 1950, he graduated and returned to Malaya. He joined UMNO and eventually became the vice president in 1951, in 1955, he was appointed the Minister of Education. He became the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia in 1957. In 1970, Tun Abdul Razak became the second Prime Minester of Malaysia.
As Prime Minester, Tun Abdul Razak guided the nation towards further development and progress. However, Tun Abdul Razak developed an illness and passed away in 1976. His death was a great loss to the nation.
